College Heights is a neighborhood in the city of Ypsilanti, Michigan. Bordered to the north by Ainsley St., to the east by Oakwood St., to the south by Washtenaw Ave., and to the west by N. Hewitt Rd., College Heights includes about 700 households. Situated right next to the Eastern Michigan University campus, there are several restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance of the neighborhood. The central Candy Cane Park hosts Little League games and neighborhood potlucks.
The College Heights Neighborhood Association (CHNA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run by residents of the neighborhood. The organization functions to assist and improve the lives of neighborhood residents by directing and funding various projects and activities, such as an annual neighborhood garage sale, picnics in Candy Cane Park, and public landscaping. CHNA is also a paying member of the hOur Exchange Ypsilanti time bank, meaning College Heights residents bank hours by volunteering for CHNA.
Residents of College Heights have a number of ways to connect with neighbors and get involved with neighborhood activities. The neighborhood has an active community on the Nextdoor website, which is maintained by CHNA officers. This is the canonical place to learn about events happening in the neighborhood, as well as a great place to post things like free items on the curb, crime and weather alerts, or any other neighborhood news. There is also a neighborhood Facebook group that serves a similar function as the Nextdoor site. This is a closed group for which you'll need to request access before you can join.

These dues can be made as a fully tax-deductible donation, and are transparently managed by the CHNA officers.
